History
The IQM - Association for organization consulting, business process reengineering and certification of integrated quality management systems in medium-sized businesses was founded on December 15, 2005 as initiative in the field of consulting and quality management of medium-sized businesses registered association by professors of the faculties of business administration, social services and tourism of the University of Applied Sciences Munich. IQM is registered in the register of associations of the District Court Munich under the file reference VR 200000. The association is member and responsible body of the institute for organisation consulting, process consulting and certification of integrated quality management systems.

- Quality enhancement through consulting and certification services
- Securing of livelihood through strategic consulting with improvement of quality of operational processes (procedural organisation)
The way towards certification
The introduction of a quality management system as a rule is performed in three steps:
- Accompanying consulting through consultants of IQM e.V. or through independent management consultants
- Certification audit through IQM auditors
- Certification award through the IQM
Objectives of the certification audit
The auditors of the IQM are "interdisciplinary companions" of the enterprises certified by them. In this capacity they pursue the following objectives:
- Optimization of company structure and management (organisation and business processes)
- Involvement of company staff, so that these act in concert with the company management
- Increasing the motivation of company staff through involvement in problem identification and solving
- Drafting a brief organisation manual to render services and quality standards of the company transparent to the customer
- Avoiding excessive bureaucracy
- Efficiency of the certification (the costs of introduction should be compensated for within an acceptable period of time through exploiting potentials within the company)
- Minimization of external costs of the certification, e.g. through the provision of numerous samples and forms
The IQM Certificate
IQM supports and awards the implementation of quality management systems in a special way. So it differentiates from other certification providers. IQM is not a member of the DAR (German accreditation council).

Membership
The membership in the certification institute or the association for organization consulting, business process reengineering and certification of integrated quality management systems in medium-sized enterprises registered association (IQM e.V.) is generally obtainable by all professors, assistant lecturers of the University of Applied Sciences Munich, in particular of the departments of business studies, social services and tourism, in order to reach the following objectives:
- Furthering the basic principle of quality management in teaching
- Quality enhancement through consulting and certification in interested enterprises / organisations
- Securing of livelihood through strategic consulting with improvement of quality of operational processes (procedural organisation)
Moreover, the IQM e.V. also welcomes the membership of umbrella associations and organisations that seek involvement for their members and their quality management.
